RP6TH Skills and Character Development Diploma
The KS5 enrichment programme at SRPA encompasses a variety of opportunities for students to develop skills and qualities identified for development.
We challenge students to continue to value their own personal development, take responsibility for their own lifelong learning, whilst at the same time looking after their own wellbeing and happiness.
We provide a variety of opportunities for activities each term for students to develop soft skills and personal qualities. Personal development takes place on Tuesday period 1 and enrichment time is timetabled as period 4 and 5 in week 1 and period 5 in week 2. In addition, students may wish to choose alternative times in their timetable, such as tutor time and study periods to independently work on their own personal development.
The programme is student led, and students track and self-assess their own contributions and wider involvement in the academy on a weekly basis in their tutor programme. Sixth form tutors and students who have had success on the Skills and Character porgramme support and mentor their peers to ensure opportunities are taken to develop personally throughout the year.
This award brings together our current key stage 5 wider involvement, enrichment, extracurricular and super curricular activities. This process provides an opportunity to recognise our students for the commitment to their own personal development along with our own SRPA Values.
